cruel reality and humour
- Comedy, Drama, Romance - we can see all of these genres in one movie. This shows us that the movie is about life. The music changes it's tempo from slow, moody and sad to a fast one, more exciting and happy, depending on a picture.
- The trailer goes through the life of the main character - Marjane. We can see her as a little child on the beginning, and a grown adult at the end.
- We kind of go through the problems with her - she moves to a different country for her own safety. She gets into a bad crowd, and she is embarrassed of her nationality. We can see that she has not only problems like us (boys, school, friends) and that she goes through the revolt in herself. She tries to be a normal teenager, but her real, big problems that most of us never experienced makes her unique, and she doesn't like that.
- She misses her family and country, and it is hard for her to mingle in a crowd.
